Now that 2014 has wrapped up 2015 engagement sessions are starting! My first session was with Freddie & Jessica in Laguna Beach, CA. After some much needed rain in Southern California we had such a beautiful day for our shoot which started in Laguna Canyon at the nature trails and ended at the beach. Looking forward to your wedding at The Reef in September!
When I first met with Jori and Jason they knew the key to my heart...Burt's Bees. I am never sure if anyone ever reads my "About Me" section on my website but Jori did and she saw that I love Burt's Bees products so she brought me a little gift. I seriously do have the sweetest clients :). We decided on doing their engagement pictures at Central Park in Huntington Beach since it held a special place for Jason & Jori. They have spent time their as a couple and had picnics so it was the perfect spot. I always love when clients bring props or items that are significant for them and for Jason & Jori it was a box of cards that they have written to each other over their time together. It was fun to have them go through them again and relive some of those sweet moments over the years. I am looking forward to your wedding this August and couldn't wait to share these pictures with you both!
I don't have the opportunity to photograph Senior high school students so when Hannah's Mom approached me for her portrait session I was more than happy to do it. Hannah was so easy in front of the camera and was such a pleasure to photograph. Here are a few of my favorites!
I always love to photograph a wedding at the Center Club in Costa Mesa. It's so elegant and the surroundings are always so gorgeous. I especially loved David & Christine's wedding because it was made up of the closest family and friends and most importantly David's beautiful children. The whole day had a wonderful family feel and Christine's infectious smile just made it so apparent that happiness was all around. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from the day!

Many years ago I lived down the street from the Nixon Presidential Library & Museum and thought it would be a beautiful venue for a wedding so when Kaysha Weiner asked me to second shoot this gorgeous 1776 inspired wedding I couldn't wait. The location, the couple and the light were all perfect to make a gorgeous wedding day and some beautiful images. Since I was with the guys for all the getting ready we started off at a local barber shop in Brea, CA for an old fashioned shave. I thought it was such a fun and unique way for the boys to bond and get a little pampering for the day. Thank you again Kaysha for this opportunity, I truly enjoyed it!

Wedding season is in full swing which means lots of fun engagement sessions to come! I love when a client researches a location for their engagement pictures and makes it their own. Tessa knew the exact type of feel she wanted for her pictures and when she found Riley Wilderness Park she knew that was the place for them. I had never shot there before but there was no shortage of beautiful spots and gorgeous light. I definitely can't wait to go back. I had such a great time with you both and can't wait for your July wedding!
This was such a fun wedding for me to photograph. Christopher and Celina both met and live in Italy and came to San Diego, a town Celina likes to call home, to get married. I had never met them but the instant I did I could see how in love they were and how special this day was for them both. With a small handful of friends and family they celebrated their marriage at Karl Strauss Brewery in San Diego, CA which has a beautiful hidden Japanese Garden that made for the perfect backdrop for their pictures. Thank you for the opportunity to capture your day and I hope you cherish your images for years to come!
I love this time of year when the flowers are starting to bloom and everything is so green and lush! When Melissa and Chris chose South Coast Botanic Garden I was excited for their session because I knew the surroundings were going to be beautiful this time of year. I had such a great time with both of you and can't wait for your wedding in October. I know it's going to be a blast.
I have been so fortunate to get to know Kevin and Leah and their family over this past year. I've had the pleasure of photographing the events in their life over the past year and a half including their wedding last year so I was pleased when Leah told me they were expecting their first baby and wanted me to do their pictures. They were looking for a beautiful field with flowers and I think this one was perfect for them especially because of their love of yellow! I can't wait to meet little Olivia and watch her grow!
Chris & Kiersten were such a great way to start my 2013 wedding season! Kiersten and I met when our daughters went to preschool together and soon discovered we lived in the same neighborhood. When she got engaged recently and contacted me to shoot her wedding I was so excited. Chris and Kiersten both have beautiful 5 year olds and seeing those families combine brought back wonderful memories for me of when I married my husband and he took on that role with my son. Kiersten got ready for her day at the Mission Inn in Riverside. If you have never been there you must check it out. Such a gorgeous hotel and we snuck a few quick shots before departing for the wedding venue. Thank you for having me as part of your day and I wish you all the best for a happy lifetime of love and family!

I had the pleasure of meeting Carolina a few years back at a photography workshop we both attended. Several of the attendees have kept in touch through Facebook and we follow each others work and provide support and learning to each other. Carolina recently had a beautiful baby girl so when I posted that I was having my Valentines Love Session minis she contacted me to have their first family pictures taken. I was excited but also nervous since she was another photographer but as soon as we started the session they were so easy to work with it and I just enjoyed every minute of it. We even got to shoot a few headshots for Carolina's website, Lifekisses Photography.
Since my 2013 wedding season has yet to really start in full swing I am playing catch up with some blog posts from second shooting and other events that I fell behind on :). This gorgeous wedding was back in August at one of my favorite places to shoot, Strawberry Farms, in Irvine, CA. I just love having the opportunity to shoot with my good friend Tim Wheaton from Tim Wheaton Photography.
So excited to get back into wedding season and first up is an engagement session at one of my favorite location, Oak Canyon Nature Center. The day started off pretty ominous and cold and there was a persistent threat of rain all day but luckily it held out and we were able to shoot this session. I can't wait for Chris & Kiersten's wedding next month at Canyon Crest Country Club. It should be a beautiful day!
What a hard task to sit down and go over so many beautiful weddings, family and engagement sessions I had the pleasure to photograph. Picking a few of my favorites was tough but I also loved the opportunity to go back and revisit all the wonderful people I have met and hopefully the happy memories I have made. To each of my clients (if you are reading this) thank you for the opportunity to photograph your wedding or family and to other photographers who have asked me to second shoot for them thank you for the chance to work with such a talented group of people! I can't wait to see what 2013 brings!
It's always a little nerve wracking when a fellow photographer asks you to photograph her but when it's her wedding day and she is your friend that nervousness is through the roof. I first knew of Allison several years ago when I began my photography journey and she did one of the most creative 365 projects on Flickr I have ever seen. I followed her for a while before we finally met (can you say stalker?). We had a lot in common and became friends, went to some concerts together and the rest is history. When Allison was marrying Jared and she asked me to photograph it I was so excited. I loved being part of their day and seeing their joy. Thank you for the opportunity and if you want to check out some beautiful images make sure to look at Allison's blog!
This was such an elegant wedding with gorgeous details and lots of love from family and friends. As always I love shooting a wedding at The Center Club and this was no exception. With their recently renovated ceremony and reception site it made it a breeze to photograph!

Growing up in Orange County I have been to the Bowers Museum several times so I was excited when Melissa Brandman asked me to second shoot this beautiful wedding with her. Such a sweet couple surrounded by family and friends on this gorgeous day. Couldn't have been better! Thank you Melissa for the opportunity to shoot with you! Venue : Bowers Museum
Main Photographer : Melissa Brandman
A beautiful venue, an amazingly sweet and lovely couple and the day came together perfectly. Even a little rain right before the ceremony on one of the most hot and humid days of the year couldn't put a damper on this wedding. Erik & Lexi I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from your day and I can't wait to show you more!
