Jasson & Marcella are engaged | Anaheim Wedding Photographer

I was so excited when Marcella contacted me about her wedding in September.  Her and Jasson were planning their wedding at the beautiful Villa Del Sol venue in Downtown Fullerton which is one place I have always wanted to shoot a wedding.  Fortunately last month I had the opportunity to second shoot a wedding there and just seeing it all done up for a wedding made me even more excited for their day.  When we discussed where they wanted to do their engagement session they mentioned that there is an area in Anaheim Hills where they like to go hiking.  I love when a couple wants to do their session at a location that is near and dear to them and this place was perfect.  I think the images we got really captured their love.  I am looking forward to your wedding next month, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Nick & Sarah are married | The Reef Wedding | Long Beach Wedding Photographer

Nick & Sarah were married this weekend in a beautifully intimate ceremony surrounded my family and friends at Waverly Chapel in Santa Ana.  It was followed by a reception at The Reef in Long Beach with gorgeous views of the Queen Mary and Long Beach nightlife.  Nick & Sarah endured a long deployment when Nick was serving in the military and you can just see the love between the two of them and how happy they are to be together for good.  I wish you both a lifetime of much happiness and luck with your move back to Southern California!

Toby & Sara are engaged | Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim engagement | Anaheim Wedding Photographer

The way I came upon Toby & Sara was not the best situation.  My good friend Shanna of Shanna Kreza Photography  was hired by Toby & Sara to shoot their August wedding and unfortunately she was put on bed rest so she asked me to help out.  When she told me that their engagement session was being held at Angels Stadium I was more than thrilled.  See I was born and raised in Anaheim and grew up a big Angels fan so the opportunity to shoot an engagement session on the field and in the dugout was a huge honor.  Thankfully Shanna and her baby are doing well and I am glad I could meet Toby and Sara.  I am looking forward to their wedding in a few short weeks!

We then moved down the road to The Orange Circle for a few more shots before wrapping it up for the day!

Tim & Mia are married | Hotel Maya Wedding | Long Beach Wedding Photographer

If you saw Tim & Mia's fantastic vintage engagement shoot in San Juan Capistrano then you know how excited I was for their wedding.  They were the first wedding of the year that I booked and since then Mia who happens to be a super talented hairdresser now does my hair.  During my hair appointments over the last few months we have had lots of time to talk about their upcoming wedding and the more details I heard the more excited I got to be a part of their day.  Tim and Mia have known each other since elementary school (but don't ask the exact year since they both have a different answer ;)) so this wedding has been a long time coming and was planned perfectly down to each and every detail.  The venue was the gorgeous Hotel Maya just across the water from the Queen Mary.  So let's move on to what you came here for....the pictures!

Mia had not one but 2 fabulous pairs of shoes

and who wouldn't love a pair of fabulous sparkly TOMS for your "something blue"

Then we hopped over to the Hotel Maya to get some snaps of the men getting ready

Have you seen a cuter little vest for the ring bearer?

Tim and Mia chose a first look!

MIA!  You are gorgeous!!!

Mia's family made these delicious Italian cookies!

LOVED these napkins!

Always LOVE the Photobooth!

Tim and Mia thank you again for letting me be a part of your day.  I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love!

Andrew & Kristyn are married | Camarillo Ranch Wedding Photographer

When Kristyn contacted me earlier in the year about possibly booking me as their wedding photographer and described her venue to me it sounded fantastic.  Unfortunately Andrew & Kristyn live in Eureka, CA so for several months any contact we had was via phone and email.  Finally I got to meet them at Camarillo Ranch and then I got really excited.  A reception in barn?  Full use of a cool historic house?  Fun couple who are down for anything?  YES PLEASE!  The day started off beautifully with Kristyn getting ready at her Mom's house with a Catholic Mass that followed at Our Lady of Assumption in Ventura.  Then it was off to Camarillo Ranch for a fun reception and a big family that loves to have a great time!

This is pretty much how most flower girls/ring bearers eye me :)

Someone LOVES Lady Gaga's Poker Face ;)

Congratulations Andrew & Kristyn!  I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon and best wishes to a long and happy marriage together.

Stephen & Sarah are married | The Victorian | Santa Monica Wedding Photographer

I couldn't wait to blog this wedding!  When Kaysha Weiner of Kaysha Weiner Photography asked me to second shoot this wedding back in January it sounded like it was going to be amazing and I wasn't disappointed.  Stephen & Sarah are both avid runners and adventurers and they are one of the sweetest and most laid back couples around.  Their wedding day was full of love and a beautiful calmness that I think was captured in their images.  The setting of The Victorian in Santa Monica was perfect and the details were just perfect.

Badgley Mischka shoes!  Fantastic!

Stephen & Sarah chose a first look!

When Sarah's Dad saw her for the first time the look on his face was priceless

One of my fave shots of the day.  Sarah is gorgeous!

Sarah and her Dad had one of the best father/daughter dances I have seen.

Curtis & Emily are married Part 2 | The Center Club | Costa Mesa Wedding Photographer

If you didn't catch the first quick sneak peek of Curtis & Emily's wedding at The Center Club in Costa Mesa then make sure you look there first!  Now let's move on to the images since I think that's what you came here for!

Did I mention her shoes in my last post?  I did.  And you are going to be seeing a lot more of them because if you follow my blog at all you know I am slightly obsessed. ;)

Curtis sent a text message to all of their friends to say how happy he was to be marrying Emily.  SO SWEET!

Special thanks to my second shooter Kaysha for finding this book in the hotel room.  Perfect words!

Curtis & Emily opted to do a first look and see each other before their ceremony.  I love when couples decide to do this and the look on Curtis's face when he saw Emily was so worth it

I wasn't lying about the shoes and my love of them :)

Little Stella kept looking over at me during the ceremony and giving me a thumbs up.  She melted me.

A new family is formed

For the Father/Daughter dance Emily's DJ had her do a voice over recording message to her Dad at the beginning of the song.  You can see the emotion on his face just from hearing it.

I love a group of people who are ready for a good time and the guests at this wedding were no exception!

Curtis and Emily...I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.  Thank you for letting me be a part of your day!

Curtis & Emily are married | The Center Club | Costa Mesa Wedding Photographer

Curtis and Emily were married this weekend in a beautiful ceremony at The Center Club in Costa Mesa surrounded by their closest family and friends.  When I met Curtis and Emily earlier this year they told me the story of how they found me by chance.  They were visiting another venue and happened to stumble across one of my images from a wedding I had done there last year.  Curtis remembered my name, they googled me, sent me an email and well the rest is history as they say.  I've been very excited about this wedding and it's dear to my heart because it reminds me very much of my own almost 8 years ago.  Curtis has an adorable 4 year old daughter Stella who was going to be a very big part of this wedding.  There was no wedding party.  Just Curtis, Emily and Stella standing up and taking vows.  When Emily made vows to Stella there wasn't a dry eye in the house (including mine).  Congratulations to the newly formed family and I hope you enjoy Part 1 of your sneak peek!

Did I mention how fabulous Emily's shoes were?  More about them on the next post :)

It was a bit windy that day which Emily and I laughed about since their engagement session was VERY windy.  It seems to follow us.

Dustin & April are married Part 2 | Carlsbad Wedding Photographer | Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch

If you missed it you should mosey on back and see the first blog post of Dustin & April's wedding.  OK now that we are on the same page let's move forward.  The Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch was such an awesome venue and I was very excited to shoot there.  So let me first show you a little from the beautiful location in Carlsbad...

Did I mention there were peacocks?  Everywhere!

Let's move on to what we came here for.  The wedding and April!

April's Grandmother found this beautiful vintage purse in an antique shop for her to use on her wedding day.  It was perfect for the peacock theme.

Dustin & April chose to do a first look.  If you haven't heard of this it's when a couple decides to see each other prior to the ceremony.  I love a first look because it gives the bride and groom a few moments before the ceremony to spend some time together and also takes a little of that pressure off during the actual vows.  It also gave us time to do some pictures of the couple prior to getting married which allows them to go straight into the reception.  Win-win!

Let's move on to the ceremony.  It was presided over by one of April's college professors and this guy was amazing.  He conducted the entire ceremony by memory and even quoted full poems.  Quite amazing and such a personal experience for the couple.

Have you seen a more gorgeous bouquet?

Dustin & April had a photobooth at their wedding for guests to go in, take pictures and then they would put the images in a sign in book for the couple to keep.  SUCH a fun idea.  If you are getting married I would highly suggest looking into it.

Congrats to the happy couple and thank you again to Carey Clay of Bellagracelynn Photography for asking me to shoot this awesome wedding with you!

Tim & Mia are engaged | San Juan Capistrano Photographer

Tim & Mia's wedding was the first one I booked for the 2011 summer season and I have been looking forward to their engagement session since then.  Mia had a definite idea of the type of style she wanted for her images and I couldn't wait to make it happen.  We talked about some different locations but the Historic Los Rios District in San Juan Capistrano was always in the back of my mind as the perfect location.  I absolutely love the end result and I really think we captured Tim & Mia and their awesome sense of style and long time love (since elementary school!).  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and I look forward to your wedding next month at Hotel Maya!  Special thank you goes out to Leslie at Pixies Petals for making Mia a beautiful bouquet for the shoot.

Mia you are beautiful!

Dustin & April are married | Carlsbad Wedding Photographer | Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch

This weekend Dustin & April were married in a beautiful ceremony in Carlsbad at Leo Carrillo Historic Ranch.  The weather was perfect, the bride was beautiful and the venue was amazing.  Leo Carrillo is a ranch style park with an old style western feel, beautiful adobe buildings AND free roaming peacocks.  YES peacocks!  Here are a few images for a sneak peek with more to come by next week!  Thank you to the amazing Carey Clay of Bellagracelynn Photography for asking me to shoot this gorgeous wedding.
