Ony & Cynthia are married | Poway, CA | Holy Family Center

I knew when I met with Ony & Cynthia last year to talk about their wedding day that it was going to be different than any other wedding I had ever shot.  Family heritage and tradition were very important to them so they took special care to include that in their wedding day.  I just loved seeing the colorful clothing from Ony's Nigerian ancestry and Cynthia's Peruvian culture.  They even had a Nigerian wedding ceremony during their reception and a Crazy Hour at the end of the night from Cynthia's tradition.  Such a fun and beautiful day! Eric & Crysta are married | Center Club | Costa Mesa Wedding

I met Crysta a few years ago at a bridal show at Center Club when her good friend Jori was getting married.  Since then I have had the pleasure of photographing Jori's wedding and Crysta's brothers wedding last year.  So when Crysta got engaged I was SO excited that she e-mailed me to ask me to be her wedding photographer.  Shooting her wedding felt like seeing family again with so many familiar faces. Mark & Lindsay are engaged | San Juan Capistrano Engagement Session

I always love photographing in San Juan Capistrano near the Los Rios District.  Even though I have been there many times each time I go I discover new little nooks and gems.  I just loved taking Mark & Lindsay there and exploring all the different areas.  I'm looking forward to your wedding next month in beautiful Temecula! Mike & Elsa are married |The Villa Del Sol | Fullerton Wedding Photographer

The Villa Del Sol is one of my favorite wedding venues to shoot at.  Not only because it's about 15 minutes from where I live but I just love the Spanish style and beautiful grounds.  It's been a few years since I have been there for a wedding but when Mike & Elsa contacted me to be their wedding photographer I was so happy to go back.  Such a fun and beautiful day! Frank & Danielle are engaged | Big Bear, CA

My poor blog has been sadly neglected these last few months as wedding season is in full swing and my kids are out of school for the summer (also known as the perfect storm of busy).  I have so many wonderful engagement sessions I have yet to blog and now gorgeous weddings that I can't wait to share.  First up is Frank & Danielle.  I shot their engagement session several months back in Big Bear, CA at Danielle's family cabin.  It's a special spot for them because that is where they were engaged and shared so many amazing memories.  I can't wait for your wedding next month, I know it's going to be an adventurous day :). Rent the Runway | Engagement Dresses

I discovered Rent the Runway a few years ago when I was looking for a great designer dress for my high school reunion but didn't want to spend a lot of money.  A friend told me about Rent the Runway and it was perfect!  They have amazing designer dresses that you can rent at a fraction of the retail price.  Dresses that normally are sold for $275 or higher you can rent for around $50!  What a great deal!!  You can also rent accessories like jewelry and purses to complete the perfect look.  The other awesome thing is Rent the Runway sends you 2 dress sizes just in case you are in between or unsure of the fit.  Then when you are done you put them back into the shipping bag they provide and pop it into the mail and done! So if you have and engagement session coming up and you are looking for a great dress but don't want to spend a lot or even a gorgeous outfit for your engagement party that will surely bring tons of compliments then check them out.  And an added bonus is $25 off your first order of $75 and more when you sign up (www.renttherunway.com).  Happy shopping!

Spring Wedding Gowns at BHLDN

One of the first things a bride dreams about when she is first engaged (maybe even as a little girl) is her wedding dress.  The search for the perfect dress is sometimes a long and arduous process but when you find it you know it's the one.  It's no secret that one of my favorite stores is Anthropologie so naturally I love their bridal site BHLDN.  The Spring look book was recently released so I wanted to share a few of my favorite gowns in hopes to help all your new brides with your quest for the dress of your dreams!

All gowns can be found at BHLDN.com

Downton Abbey Inspired Shoot | The French Estate | Orange Wedding Photographer

I have been waiting a looooong time for this blog post and I'm so excited that I am finally able to share it.  So much hard work and talent went into this stylized shoot and I am so pleased that I was a part of it.  I must admit that I have never seen Downton Abbey so when Angie Florence of Amore Favolosa Event Planning approached me about teaming up for this shoot I was thrilled to do it but had no idea where to start.  Thankfully Angie is a big fan so most of the planning and details were all thanks to her.  We were also fortunate to work with an amazing florist, Tara Wheaton of Sweet Blossom Designs, who went above and beyond and brought many of the props that were used in the shoot.  I can't say enough about all the vendors that came together to make this happen.  I can't wait to work with each of you again!  This shoot was featured today on Style Me Pretty - California so make sure to check out the link and leave us some love! The beautiful Angie | Irvine Photographer

Angie asked me to take some professional shots for her and I needed to try out a new location so she agree to be my beautiful guinea pig! Here’s a little bit about her…

Angie Florence knows weddings!  A former art teacher, she relocated from Washington state last year to dive headfirst into the wedding industry. With a design and creativity background, she began working in a bridal salon learning the ins and outs of bridal gowns. Shortly after, Angie began working at Center Club, a private and prestigious social club in Costa Mesa. Starting in banquets serving, she quickly climbed the ladder to catering and private events. She now facilitates the weddings every weekend, assisting brides and coordinators to ensure every detail is perfect. She also handles Center Club’s social media and member relations.  Angie and I first met earlier this year at a wedding show and exchanged information but never reconnected again until we worked together at Curtis & Emily's wedding this past May at Center Club.  I am looking forward to another wedding we will be working together on this May with hopefully many more to come!

Angie also works as a wedding planner and sales consultant for Petals by Xavi, a floral and event coordination company in Southern California. From centerpieces, to linens, to vendors, Angie is there every step of the way to use her expertise and creativity to help brides make their vision a reality for their wedding day.

You may see her at a bridal show, running around the Center Club, or delivering flowers to a golf course or hotel. Whatever the case, this girl is all over the place. You may see her running her own wedding business someday putting all this knowledge into practice!

Sean & Tiffany | Love

I was really looking forward to this session.  Not just because Sean is my brother and Tiffany is my future sister in law but because I love to see two people begin their life together as husband and wife. Seeing the two of them from behind my camera I could see the love.  I didn't even need to tell them how to pose or what to do...it was natural for them.  I love you both and can't wait for your wedding. seanandtiff_0583

{ Big changes ahead }

kaia0510web2

Where do I start?  Things around here have been crazy lately but I think and hope in a good way.  Recently I left my job and although I am scared and nervous about what the future brings I have decided to look at this as a good thing and focus on the stuff that matters to me.  Most importantly I am going to try my hand at being a SAHM for as long as our finances allow.  So far I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have had with my kids and have been making the most of our time during the week to do all the fun stuff that we aren't able to do on the weekends because we are busy playing catch up.  Secondly, I am hoping to focus more on my photography.  I hope that one day soon with all the learning and practicing I am doing I can make this my business and be able to enjoy my job and feel rewarded by offering beautiful memories to people.  So look for good things ahead for us and keep me in your thoughts.

{ Kade turns 5 }

thekiddos

Kade turned 5 on Saturday. I can't believe it's been 5 years since he was born, time really flies. We spent the day at Disneyland and besides the few rainshowers it was a great day. It was also Kaia's first trip to the Magic Kingdom and despite the look on her face in this picture she really did have a good time.
